About Us
BareStage Productions is the oldest and largest student-run theatre company at UC Berkeley. We are dedicated to providing student actors, directors, writers, musicians, and designers with the opportunity to practice their craft in a supportive, inclusive, and pre-professional environment.

This year, BareStage Productions will be putting on five "Mainstage" productions, a musical and a play each semester, with an additional mainstage show in the spring semester! We are especially committed to empowering underrepresented voices and presenting diverse stories that reflect the vibrancy of our community.
Why This Matters
Founded in 1994 by Ben Rimalower, BareStage Productions provides a place for student actors, directors, writers, musicians, and designers to practice and develop their craft. We believe that the arts,and the stories that theater can tell are important. To this end, we offer opportunities for our members to gain important experience in lighting, musicianship, and dance, as well as hosting open workshops for students to hone their craft. Student theater is notoriously underfunded, and BareStage Productions is no different. It is our hope that additional funding will allow us to do more of what we already do- allow the Berkeley community to tell more important stories, and to gain the skills necessary to tell these stories in deeper, more meaningful ways.

Your Donation:
BareStage will use your generous donations to support its student performers and technicians and allow us to cover our operating expenses this year. Any additional funds will go to upgrading our technical equipment to allow us to better tell these important stories.
A Typical Show Budget
Show Rights - $1000
Sets - $500
Costumes - $300
Props - $150
Lights/Sound/General - $50
These amounts are based on averages from previous years. Estimates are rough only, and actual expenditures may vary.
All donations will go to allow us to pay for these expenses!

For each show, BareStage offers one free invited preview to UCCE and BareStage members (Our Town- October 8th, West Side Story- November 5th). These previews are exciting, high energy, and incredibly fun!

Name in the BareTroupe Script
Ever watched a BareTroupe show and wished that there was a way to make them work more references into the script? Now you can do exactly that! At this tier, our BareTroupe scriptwriters will be sure to work your name into their final showcase script. This tier also guarantees you an invitation to all both previews this semester (Our Town- October 8th, West Side Story- November 5th).

Name a BarePage Character
Every semester, our writing and directing group, BarePage, has a LOT of characters to name. At this tier, you get to make up a name for one character in a scene that will be performed in the BarePage showcase! This tier also guarantees you an invitation to all both previews this semester (Our Town- October 8th, West Side Story- November 5th).
