Your donation will be deposited with the University of California, Berkeley Foundation and distributed to the program, lab, institute, or department leading your selected project.

Is my contribution tax-deductible?
Yes, contributions through UC Berkeley’s crowdfunding platform support specific areas of the university and are therefore eligible for income tax deductions as allowed by law.

Will I receive a receipt for my contribution?
Yes, UC Berkeley will send you a gift receipt via email for tax purposes.

Your credit card will be charged immediately upon finalizing your gift on the website.

Is there an administrative or processing fee?
A portion of each gift is allocated to support fundraising, donor engagement, and other efforts. Gifts made to standard, non-faculty-research funds incur a 5% philanthropic allocation (2.5% for ASUC groups). This is allocated to support fundraising and engagement efforts, extends the impact of gifts and helps renew the university's public mission and world-class excellence. Gifts made to faculty research funds incur a 10.5% research administrative fee. This is allocated to cover costs to the fund's administering unit, the central campus units involved in research administration, and future research. Gifts made via credit card are also subject to a 2.5% credit card processing fee.
