Help make tech more inclusive

Diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging, and justice (DEIBJ) are core principles interlaced in all aspects of the School of Information’s teaching, learning, and research. While we've made great strides in improving equity and creating a welcoming climate, there is still much work to be done to foster a more diverse student body. We educate the technology leaders and tech policymakers of tomorrow, and we must continue recruiting brilliant students who reflect the diversity of our state, our nation, and our world.

Among the initiatives that the I School Opportunity Fund supports are:
- The I School Graduate Scholars. Graduate students (ISGS) Fellowship
- I School Leadership Development Program for Gender Equity
- DEIBJ Student Representatives
- Funding for learning, research, and professional development resources such as textbooks and lending library materials.
- Travel grants for students attending diversity and equity-related conferences and events, such as the CMD-IT/ACM Richard Tapia Celebration of Diversity in Computing Conference, the Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing, the National Society of Black Engineers conference, the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers conference, and the AfroTech Conference.
Please support talented and deserving I School students focused on fueling a more dynamic and diverse community as well as the tools and resources required for their success. Their work at the I School is fundamental to innovative teaching and research now and for a more equitable future in technology.
