Our Crowdfunding Groups
This past weekend, we invited 93 student hackers from under-resourced high schools throughout the Bay Area to ANova Hacks 2019. Thank you so much for donating to our Crowdfunding Campaign and being one of our earliest sponsors!
Our Impact
We had 33 project submissions from student teams.
74.4% of students were first-time hackers at ANova Hacks 2019.
91.4% of students felt that ANova Hacks helped them prepare for college and Computer Science.
There was a 35.6% increase in students who felt comfortable making their own projects independently or with help from mentors, friends, and online research.
There was a 17.3% increase in students who felt comfortable asking for help on topics in Computer Science.
BART Tickets and Covo
ANova Hacks was held at Covo, a beautiful coworking space in the heart of SF. Of our 55 BART ticket recipients, 64.1% of recipients indicated that they would have had some level of difficulty attending the hackathon without the BART ticket, and 25% of recipients specified that they would not have been able to attend ANova Hacks at all without the BART ticket.
Your donations went directly towards providing BART tickets to students and securing this amazing venue!

We did it! With 5 days left, we’ve hit our goal of $4000! Thank you so much to all our amazing donors—whether you donated just yesterday or on the very first day, every single dollar has contributed to the total $5130 raised for ANova Hacks.
ANova Hacks is tentatively scheduled for March 15-16, 2019. The Events Committee toured Covo on Friday, and we’re super excited host ANova Hacks there again. With $4000 raised, we can now secure this awesome venue space!
Every amount above $4000 will go towards providing BART tickets for students to come to the hackathon. Last year, many students were unable to attend ANova Hacks because they didn’t have a ride; we hope to prevent this with pre-paid BART tickets.
