UC Berkeley Women's Club Soccer | 2018

Thank you to all of our wonderful donors, we have already reached our initial goal of $7,000! We've created a new stretch goal of $10,000. We are excited to announce that we have been granted an "at-large" bid to Nationals in Foley, Alabama and truly could not have done it without your support!

History and Mission

UC Berkeley Women's Club Soccer was founded in 1995 as a way for academically driven women to continue playing soccer in college. Since its founding, the size of the club has grown exponentially and now includes two teams with a total of almost 50 talented women; many of whom turned down offers to play D1 soccer at other schools in order to attend UC Berkeley.

Cal Women’s Club Soccer allows us to be a part of a smaller community on a large campus. At an institution as rigorous as UC Berkeley, it can often feel impossible to make time for ourselves and our passions outside of school. We are incredibly lucky to have a community on campus that promotes both physical and mental health, and allows us to achieve our academic goals while continuing to play the sport that we love. Your support today will ensure that our team continues to thrive!

As a historically self-funded and self-run organization, we have relied heavily on personal sacrifices from our players, generous donations from family and friends, and annual player dues to stay afloat. We were thrilled to have been able to attend Nationals last year in Phoenix, AZ and truly could not have done it without the generous donations from our supporters. These donations also allowed us to provide adequate training resources for players, give everyone a jersey, and send every player to a state or nation-wide tournament in the spring. We're hoping to continue this legacy of sending all players to at least one tournament a semester, and support our development as a team by hiring new coaches.

We would greatly appreciate your support as it would play an integral part not only in helping our club continue to grow as an organization, but also in supporting us in our pursuit of a national title this upcoming season in Foley, Alabama.
