Who Are We?
The Cal Club tennis team is a tight-knit community of students brought together by our love and passion for tennis. Our diverse team of almost 60 members consists of undergraduate and graduate students in a variety of majors from a wide range of backgrounds. We compete year round in tournaments all over Northern California, Arizona, and more. We are a highly competitive team in the National USTA Tennis on Campus league and are a dominant team in the Northern California club tennis circuit. After competing in the Northern California Sectionals Championship this past weekend, we’ve secured a 9-year champion streak. We are also highly competitive in the National Tennis on Campus leagues, taking second place out of 64 teams at the National Championships this past spring!
Our main goal in this upcoming season is to continue cultivating our team culture through frequent practice and tournament participation. In the spring we hope to claim the National Championship title.
Our success is dependent on making it possible for all of our members to be able to travel to competitive tournaments. This not only helps us in training to be the best club team in the country but is also a great bonding experience for our team. Most of our expenses as a club come from our travel and housing for invitational tournaments in Arizona as well as to the National Championships.
We also need funds to help us get basic equipment for our practices. This includes balls, ball hoppers, and new strings for members of the team. These expenses can add up and we want them to be one less thing our members need to worry about. The remainder of our budget will go towards helping pay for our uniforms. Ensuring that all members can have coherent team attire boosts our team spirit and sense of community at competitions.
By donating to the Cal Club tennis team, you will be supporting passionate student-athletes on our journey to continue improving and playing the sport we love!
