Granting Armenian Villages Access to Education

The Hidden Road Initiative at Berkeley aims to provide scholarships to students from underprivileged Armenian villages who are enrolled in a college, university, or vocational program. The purpose of the scholarship program is to have a sustainable impact on the youth we've interacted with through our summer camps and projects, and to ensure that they pursue higher education despite their financial hardships. Each scholarship is $1000, which is sufficient to cover one year's worth of university tuition in Armenia. The Berkeley chapter of our organization hopes to raise enough funds this semester to cover the cost of two students’ tuitions.

Additionally, our team members travel to Armenia every summer to host educational summer camps and renovate run-down schools. Students who participate in our summer camps have the opportunity to learn from our experienced volunteers about a variety of subjects, including English, health and hygiene, computer literacy, social issues, environmental science, and more. Students can also develop new friendships while engaging in activities, such as arts and crafts, yoga, soccer, etc. A mere thousand dollars will help us develop camp curriculum and begin restoring kindergartens and other classrooms. Through these methods, we hope to further establish an educational foundation which would support underprivileged students, allowing them to explore and eventually pursue their passions.

In the past three years, with the generous donations of contributors from around the world, the headquarters of HRI have been able to provide 30 scholarships to students from the villages of Akhpradzor and Shvanidzor. By becoming a sponsor or donating to the Hidden Road Initiative scholarship fund, you will ensure that these dedicated young students will be able to attain higher education and succeed in their chosen careers. Additionally, you can help us by sharing our mission and project page with your networks.
