Our Crowdfunding Groups
We would like your support in starting a club softball team here at UC Berkeley! Many sports are represented in Berkeley's club teams, which offer a lower time commitment than a division team would, but unfortunately, there is neither a club softball team nor an intramural fastpitch softball league that is available to students. It is nearly impossible to play fastpitch softball without having the skills to make the school’s division team, and this means that many players must give up the sport they love when they get to college. We all really miss playing softball and are recruiting as many new members as we can! We are currently in the process of joining our regional softball league and applying for club sport status from the university, having just become a Registered Student Organization (RSO). Our budget can be broken down as follows:
Bucket of Softballs (2): $220.00
Team bat: $200.00
Team glove: $50.00
Field Costs (~10 practices, for one semester): $840.00
Team Uniforms:$200.00
Transportation:$300
Total: $1810.00
Starting any sort of team is never easy, but softball is especially hard due to the heavy front costs of equipment. We hope that starting a club for this sport will make softball more accessible for everyone.
