Who We Are
The Cal Men’s Club Soccer Team is one of the only self-coached and independently funded college club soccer teams in the nation. Our club consists of over 30 dedicated players, many of whom rejected NCAA offers to attend Berkeley, that train three times a week and compete against other universities on weekends. Off the field, our players are dedicated students and active leaders in campus organizations such as student government, professional clubs, and fraternities.
As we are self-funded, we rely entirely on player dues, generous donations, and on many personal sacrifices from our members. In the past, we have been fortunate enough to receive support from friends and family that have graciously provided us with housing and accommodations during our travels. However, even with this amazing support and budgeting frivolously, it has become increasingly difficult to keep up with the increasing cost of competition. Just within the last year, we had to travel to Southern California twice as we qualified for the regional tournament, for which players individually had to pay for transportation and housing.
Going forward, we hope to compete at the highest level of club soccer and provide men at UC Berkeley with the opportunity to play soccer. We would greatly appreciate your support and a donation of any size would greatly help us in our goal of continuing to compete. Thank you so much for your consideration and go bears!
