The University of California Marching Band is a student-run organization dedicated to spreading the California spirit and bringing excitement to Cal fans through our music and performances. As a group funded primarily through private sources, we greatly depend on the generosity of our donors.

In the fall, Cal Band practices every day to rehearse music and run through our marching routines for our football pregame and halftime shows. When we are not practicing on the field, we proudly wear our Straw Hat Band uniform to all manner of sporting events like basketball, and volleyball, to show our support to our athletes and entertain Cal fans.

We also play short sets for Cal Band alumni events, summertime CalSO groups, and anyone who would like to bring our spirit and music to their special events. Most recently, we performed in the Super Bowl 50 halftime show alongside Coldplay, Beyonce, and Bruno Mars. This was an experience of a lifetime that truly demonstrated our ability to work with professionals and showcase our traditional marching style to an audience of over 150 million viewers. We will continue to reach out to new audiences and further spread the California Spirit as we journey to China and Japan for our Asia Tour at the start of summer.

Amazing opportunities like these have allowed us the chance to extend our reach to not only our Bay Area fans, but also to the international community. We are currently working to raise money to replace our old lockers for new ones to match our size. Our current instrument lockers are broken, outdated, and require replacement. As the band continues to grow, space is becoming increasingly cramped, and our locker rooms are not storing our belongings securely.
Thanks to the generosity of our donors so far, we have raised $80,000 toward $150,000 for a complete a full replacement of 350 lockers. With your support during this campaign, we hope to raise an additional $15,000, which will help cover the cost of 17 lockers, complete layout renovation, and 15 benches. Any gift today at any level to bring us closer to our new locker room.
