Our Crowdfunding Groups
GBB is the Berkeley chapter of Global Brigades (GB), an international non-profit that empowers communities to meet their health and economic goals. A business-focused chapter, we work alongside local GB staff to consult small businesses to create financial opportunities in rural communities in Panama, Honduras, Ghana, and Nicaragua.
What is a TeleBrigade?Starting this fall, as an alternative to our summer brigade trips, our chapter will be participating in virtual TeleBrigades, through which our student volunteers will consult with their clients over Zoom. Students will spend nine sessions collaborating with small business owners to conduct skill-building workshops, and craft informative deliverables. Ultimately, the goal is to promote long-term community success through the joint-creation and execution of business plans, and ongoing support by local GB staff and future brigades.
All donations made will go towards the student volunteer donation goal (participation fee), which has the following breakdown:
12% Business Client Preparation and Field Benefits
41% Transport and Logistics for Consulting Days
8% GB Coordinators (Local Staff)
39% Year-round Sustainability and Client Follow-up
GBB’s annual brigades provide students with a unique, cross-cultural learning opportunity. Donors will play an essential role in making virtual brigade a success. Our GBB team understands that it can be difficult to cover full costs out of pocket.
