Dear Friends of Cal Lights, 

I hope you are doing well. My name is Sami Houssaini, and I am the fundraising officer for this year.

I want to start by saying thank you for the incredible support we’ve received over the years – it’s because of you that we were able to practice the sport we love. Last year was a particularly energizing year for our team. After an uncertain beginning to the year, we were able to secure first-place finishes at WIRAs in the Women’s 2- and in the Men’s Novice Lightweight 4+. Our women’s pair extended their success to the national stage with a win at the Jefferson Dad Vail Regatta. 

Our Fall 2025 Crowdfunding campaign is currently live! We hope to build on the momentum of our past season and extend our successes further at WIRAs and on the national stage. Your help would support these goals by funding travel to more regattas, purchasing new equipment, and providing financial support to our athletes.

Hello all,

I just wanted to again thank everyone who has donated to our crowdfunding campaign! When I told my fellow officers how much we raised, and everyone was so excited and expressed renewed motivation for starting out our next in person season stronger than ever.

Your generous donations will help us go into our next season even stronger, helping us afford much needed equipment repairs and upgrades!

I personally cannot thank everyone enough, these past two seasons have been tough and I greatly appreciated everyone's continued support.
