Dear Māk Supporters,
To all who have donated, you have our most sincere gratitude! You helped us raise over $5,295 - all of which will go towards building a makerspace for high school students in Oakland. Most importantly, we are heartened to see your support for social justice and equal access to education!
The Māk team has already started collaborating with community organizations and schools to grow the program and gather equipment for the makerspace. We hope you will stay connected to us and continue to follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to see the current happenings in our pilot at Oakland Technical High School and our future progress!
Please contact the founders, Ankita Joshi and Michelle Nie, with any questions, feedback, and advice about our project!
We are so excited to have met our fundraising goal and to have shared this project with all of you. On behalf of the Māk team, a heartfelt thanks to everyone!

Hey everyone,
Again, thank you so much to everyone who's donated or shared our campaign!
We are so close to our goal - only $800 away! Our campaign ends tomorrow, October 31st at midnight. So before you go out for Halloween tomorrow, I urge you to help us however you can.
Whether it's donating a few extra dollars, making a last-minute social media post, or emailing your colleagues, anything you could do would be greatly appreciated. A small act of kindness would impact hundreds - even thousands - of Oakland youth who would have access to our public makerspace.
We're counting on you. Will you make a small act of kindness today and donate?
Sincerely,
Ankita and Michelle, Māk Co-Founders
First off, the Māk team would like to give a huge thank-you to everyone who has donated already. We deeply appreciate your support for us, and your donation will help support our Oakland Tech students who are already super excited about the new makerspace!
Second, if you have just stumbled upon our page or have been meaning to donate - please act now! We only have 7 days to raise the remaining ~$1,800. As a reminder, your donation would impact not just the 10 Oakland Tech Advanced Arts students we serve, but all Oakland Unified School District students who want to use our makerspace and facilities.
We're counting on you to help us engage students from our community in STEM, art, and design. Will you help us by making a gift and sharing on social media?
Sincerely,
Michelle, Māk Co-Founder
