Campus Safety at UC Berkeley

Your gift supports the University of California Police Department (UCPD) and its mission  to enhance community trust, reduce the incidence and fear of crime, and promote safety on the Berkeley campus.

UCPD is committed to working in partnership with our diverse campus community and supports the University's academic, research, and public service missions with professionalism, integrity and sensitivity.

How will these funds be used?

The UCPD Fund provides critical resources to support operations that ensure the safety of the UC Berkeley Campus and its students.

This includes campus patrolling efforts, Residence Hall security, and the Community Service Officer (CSO) program. CSOs provide the BearWALK night safety escort service to students, faculty and staff.

UCPD partners with neighboring law enforcement agencies, particularly the Berkeley Police Department, to provide top-quality, professional police and crime prevention services to our broader community.
