The Center for African Studies supports undergraduate students who aspire to be involved in research in African countries. Most of the students we support through the Geist & Rosberg Undergraduate Research Award are first-generation and BIPOC students. We rely on our wonderful supporters to continue providing these students with the financial means to pursue their research interests and academic ambitions.

Your support at this level ensures that students can afford airfare on safe, reliable airlines. One of the biggest expenses of conducting research in African countries -- and impediments to students -- is the round-trip airfare from California.
