UC Berkeley Men's Club Water Polo is a highly competitive team composed of around 25 students. During our CWPA competitive season, which runs from September through November, we practice for over eight hours each week in addition to competing in biweekly tournaments for the latter month and a half of the season.
We are members of the hotly contested Sierra Pacific Division, which comprises nine teams hailing from across Northern California, including rivals Stanford and UC Davis, and from which the top team qualifies for nationals. Having emerged as division champions for ten straight years from 2012 through 2022, we’re eyeing the 2023 season as a team with a history of success and a freshly stoked desire to reclaim our position atop the Sierra Pacific Division and punch yet another ticket to nationals.
However, the team faces a major challenge; we are almost entirely player-funded. There are numerous costs associated with running a successful team, like coach’s fees, travel fees, lodging fees, league fees, uniforms, pool time, and equipment.
This year, the team hopes to raise $4000, with $2500 going towards tournament lodging, $500 towards travel fees, and $1000 towards pool time, lifeguards, and tournament entry fees.
We need your help and support to push the team toward our fundraising goals. Please share this page and keep up with what we are doing on our Facebook page @UC Berkeley Men’s Club Water Polo and our Instagram page @calmensclubwaterpolo!
