Empowering Women and Non-binary Students in EE&CS Disciplines

Association of Women in EE&CS is seeking your support today!

We are raising funds to be able to support our organization in our mission to empower women and non-binary students studying EE&CS.

Association of Women in EE&CS is a student-run organization at UC Berkeley that seeks to empower female and non-binary undergraduate students pursuing Computer Science and/or Electrical Engineering disciplines. AWE hosts a variety of  socials, technical workshops, company events, and all other kinds of events throughout the year to support and connect our members. Members stay in touch through our club-wide Slack, and receive opportunities through our weekly newsletter and resume book. We also encourage members to join our mentorship program to give back and get involved! Our office is also open as a study space and a social space for members during AWEffice hours. Being a part of AWE means joining a community of inspiring and supportive women in EE&CS here at Berkeley.

Currently, there are over 1,000 members of AWE in the Slack and 250+ members of the community which renew membership each semester. Your donations and sponsorship will impact our members and improve their experience in EE&CS as a whole by helping to provide the resources they need to excel in EE&CS disciplines.

Here's a quick budget breakdown.

Our departments require funding in order to continue functioning and offer the best opportunities to women/non-binary students in EE&CS. We will allocate 1/4 of the raised funds to each of our student-facing departments, which will host a variety of events under their focus. In that way, we can ensure AWE members have access to a wide range of resources!

• Activities Department ($750)
  • Hosts general meetings, boba socials, tote bag painting socials, embroidery socials, banquet, etc.
• Mentorship Department ($750) 
  • Hosts mentorship mixers, movie nights, study socials, facilitates upperclassmen to lowerclassmen pairings for mentorship, etc.
• Professional Development Department ($750) 
  • Hosts professional development office hours, technical (space tech, website, blockchain, etc.) workshops, resume and interview workshops, provides internship and full time role support, etc.
• Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Department ($750) 
  • Hosts film screenings (Encanto), pride month-focused events, cross-club collaborations, facilitates DE&I focused boba chats with members for feedback, etc.
