UC Berkeley attracts the best and brightest students, but our university’s size and complexity can be overwhelming for new students, especially those who are the first in their families to attend college. To help ease the transition to college life and Berkeley academics, the College of Letters & Science has launched the First-Year Pathways program. This innovative program allows first-year students to take interdisciplinary courses and enjoy immersive learning experiences with a small cohort.

We launched Pathways this fall with a capacity for 125 students, and we need your support to help more scholars find their way at Berkeley. The cost for each student's Pathways experience is approximately $3,120. Your contribution to the L&S Leadership Fund will help expand L&S First-Year Pathways and similar efforts to improve the new student experience, such as the On the Same Page program, Big Ideas Courses, and additional advising resources.
The first semester of college is often the most challenging time for our undergraduates. Tilt the scales toward success with a timely gift to the L&S Leadership Fund.
