Maya at Berkeley is an organization dedicated to facilitating the synthesis of Eastern and Western classical dance forms for students. Our mission is to provide a platform that enables students to explore, choreograph, and learn various dance styles collectively.
With a strong emphasis on classical styles such as Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, Kathak, and Odissi, Maya incorporates these traditional dance forms into our performances. Additionally, we infuse elements of fusion by integrating Bollywood and hip hop music, creating a unique and captivating experience.
Our group offers invaluable opportunities for members to develop their choreography skills, teach others, and expand their knowledge of diverse dance styles. By fostering a collaborative environment, Maya at Berkeley encourages artistic growth and cultural appreciation among its members.
Through our performances and workshops, we aim to showcase the beauty and richness of both Eastern and Western classical dance forms, creating an engaging and enlightening experience for our audiences. Join us on this captivating journey as we celebrate the harmonious blend of dance traditions and cultural diversity.
Donations will go towards costumes (80%) , performance opportunities (10%), and socials(10%) for the team.
