About Us
BareStage Productions is UC Berkeley's oldest and largest student theater company! We have been putting on musicals, plays, and a variety of other performances since the 90s.
With a play, a musical, and two showcases each semester, BareStage offers all theater lovers on campus a place to pursue their passion. We bring together incredibly talented and dedicated people to create beautiful theater.

In addition to the cast, each show has a large production team that consists of designers, technicians, and creatives. Additionally, all of our musicals feature a live pit orchestra. The amount of students we are able to bring together with our work is part of what makes BareStage so special: often, our company members get to meet people they would never meet otherwise.

To put it simply, our shows are expensive! This semester we have some especially grand shows and would love to channel funds toward them (into the Woods ballgowns don't come cheap!).
We also hope to use this opportunity to acquire tools, upgrade the space, and pursue workshop opportunities not accessible to us right now. Little things, like repainting our space, take a lot of time and money but make an incredible difference in audience and performer experience. We want everyone involved in our shows to feel valued--and being able to invest funds into their work is a huge part of that.
Budget
$300 - A fresh coat of paint for the space.
$300 - Upgrading our costumes.
$200 - Workshops and training as part of our current DEI intiative.
$100 - Stepping up our marketing, including an updated vinyl sign and high-quality show posters.
$100 - Various tools and materials needed to build our sets.

We will have the cast and crew of one show of your choice sign a program specially for you! This can be picked up in person or mailed.

For each show, BareStage offers one free invited preview to UCCE and BareStage members. These previews are exciting, high energy, and incredibly fun! You will be be able to choose to attend the preview showing of Cyrano OR Into The Woods.

Ever watched a BareTroupe show and wished that there was a way to make them work more references into the script? Now you can do exactly that! At this tier, our BareTroupe scriptwriters will be sure to work your name into their final showcase script.

Every semester, our writing and directing group, BarePage, has a LOT of characters to name. At this tier, you get to make up a name for one character in a scene that will be performed in the BarePage showcase.
