Dear Wonderful Cal Tri Donors,

Wow! The Cal Tri family wants to give a huge round of applause to our amazing donors, who have helped us raise over $11,000 in our team's crowdfunding campaign! We thank you from the bottom of our hearts, and are so grateful for the continued support. We would also like to thank the team, alumni, friends, and family who helped share our project link. We couldn't have done this without you! THANK YOU!!

The fundraising amount is going to make a huge impact on our team. We plan to help more athletes compete at Nationals in April with need-based scholarships and subsidizing the race co-pay, to add to the number of team members (over 80!) already committed to going. We also hope to buy necessary team equipment to allow more people to participate in practices (trainers!) and purchase a new tent to bring to races. Your donations will go above and beyond in bringing the sport of triathlon to more people and will ensure we can properly function and provide for our team members. Our future is bright, and we couldn’t have done it without you!!

For those of you who selected perks: If when donating you selected a social media shoutout be on the lookout on instagram (@cal_triathlon) this week as we add to our story to give you the recognition you deserve. Additionally, TONIGHT between 5:45 and 7:00PM we will be going live during our trainer practice to shout out those of you who selected a live stream shout out. All other perks will be sent out in the next few weeks!! 

Time to share some more good news with you all, this past weekend, Cal Triathlon had an awesome time racing at Stanford's Treeathlon. Jonathan Dolan and Wictor Rajca placed 2nd and 4th respectively in the Men’s DL race. An hour later, Jonathan and Wictor then placed 1st and 2nd respectively in the classic race. In total Cal Tri had 7 athletes place in the top 10 in the men's classic race!! On the women's side, McKenzie Clark took 1st place in the Classic race and Cal Tri had 3 athletes place in the top 10 in the women’s classic race!! Even more exciting, we had 19 athletes compete in their first ever triathlon! Our team couldn’t be prouder of our showing at Stanford and we are looking ahead to the end of our season with intent, excitement, and focus.

Thank you again for your support and for making this campaign such a successful one. We're ready to make waves at the West Coast Conference in San Luis Obispo and Nationals in Mission Viejo, CA! GO BEARS!

We are a student-run and student-funded athletic club that receives little financial support from the school. We are the largest collegiate triathlon team in the country and one of the most decorated collegiate triathlon teams in history - and we have achieved all of this merely through the financial backing of team fundraising efforts and membership dues. The cost of training equipment, dues, and race travel can be expensive for any college student and a barrier for those hoping to get involved in the sport. Crowdfunding allows us to make triathlon an accessible sports for everyone who wants to get active and join the Cal Tri family <3

The Cal Tri family is blown away by the amount of support we've received through our Crowdfunding campaign. We exceeded our first stretch goal of $10,000 today and are now aiming to raise 150% of our initial goal, at $12,000! With only 6 days left until our campaign ends, we realize this is huge target for our team to accomplish, but with the momentum and support we've seen so far, we are confident in our goal!
