Early Learning Science & Child Policy Graduate Certificate Program

Help us take our graduate students to the

Summer Early Childhood Policy Institute

in Washington DC!

Berkeley’s Early Learning Science & Child Policy Graduate Certificate Program is part of ECPIHE Initiative and the Early Childhood Policy NetworkIt leverages the wide-ranging expertise at Berkeley and offers graduate students a transdisciplinary early childhood policy certificate. By providing students with an innovative training experience, it builds the essential knowledge and skills students need to connect science to policy. This includes learning to work in interdisciplinary teams to leverage actionable insights from research to inform child policy, as well as skills for using these insights—to design, analyze, implement, evaluate, and communicate effective child policy.

This summer we have an exciting opportunity for our Early Childhood Policy graduate students! The Early Childhood Policy Institutes of Higher Education (ECPIHE) are hosting a summer institute in Washington, D.C., from June 24th-26th. During this trip students will meet and attend briefings with Congressional staff, policymakers, and early childhood policy advocates, interview an early childhood policy leader in their area of interest, and network with other early childhood policy graduate students from across the country.

We hope to provide this opportunity to as many of our students as possible. Currently, we have funding for 5 students, and our goal is to take 7. Help us to fund these two additional students and to support some of our group’s ground transportation and food expenses in DC.

Our goal is to raise $3,500!

Goal Breakdown

  • 2 students x $1,275 for airfare and hotel accommodations= $2,550
  • Group dinner (for a total of 8 people) on the last evening of the trip = $250
  • 7 students x $100 towards transportation =$700
