Who We Are
The Cal Archery, founded in 2005, was one of the first recreational collegiate archery teams established on the West Coast. Over the years, it has grown significantly, now boasting more than 50 active members. As leaders in the Western Region, the team has not only excelled in competition, winning multiple gold medals at regional, state, and national levels, but also played a key role in helping other West Coast teams, such as UC Davis, UC San Diego, and UC Merced, establish their own archery programs.
Committed to fostering inclusivity, the club welcomes members of all skill levels, from beginners to experienced competitors. We provide all necessary equipment and training, offering opportunities to learn and compete in various disciplines – compound, Olympic recurve, and barebow. With the club's continued growth, we aim to raise $7,500 in this year's crowdfunding opportunity to cover a portion of our team's competition costs and sponsor our athlete's at state and national tournaments. Our goal is to ensure that archers of every skill level can engage in the sport and thrive in a supportive, competitive environment.
What will your donation go towards?
This year, we hope to support our team in financing our tournament fees, while minimizing the out-of-pocket cost for each attendee.
Competitions in the 2024-2025 season include:
The projected cost breakdown per athlete in the 2024-25 competition season is tabulated below. Competition costs generally include transportation (rental cars/flights), hotel accommodations, and competition registration fees, adding up to roughly $15,000 annually, or $600 per athlete, for our actively competing group of roughly 25 athletes.

With this crowdfunding opportunity, we hope to raise $7500, half of the expected costs to fully support our athletes in tournaments, greatly alleviating our fundraising efforts.
Regardless of whether our goal is met, we will use the funds raised to sponsor our athletes' competition funds as much as possible. For all donations that come through crowdfunding, we will cover expenses in the following priority order:
We hope that this strategy encourages many students to compete at tournaments within at least the state. Any remaining costs will be covered by team members and additional fundraising efforts.
