Sunstock: Solar Powered Music Festival

Sunstock Solar-Powered Music Festival is hosted annually by the ASUC Sustainability Team, one of the oldest commissions on the UC Berkeley campus. We host student and local bands during our free all-day outdoor event, open to all ages, all students and all community members. The event also includes a sustainability fair, offering clubs across campus a unique platform to interact with students and Berkeley residents. 

Last April, we hosted over 300 attendees, including current and prospective Cal students. As one of the few campus events open to the public, it allows students to share their cultural interests and environmental commitments with Berkeley residents, inspiring collaboration and mutual understanding.

Why donate?

Sunstock was originally launched in collaboration with LA-based band Trapdoor Social, who headline our festival every year. In the past, Trapdoor Social has brought their solar-powered trailer and generator to power music equipment for the festival. Since last year's Sunstock, Trapdoor Social's trailer was stolen in Los Angeles.

To make Sunstock possible again this year, we are asking for your financial support to maintain our solar-powered mission by renting an alternative setup for the event. Your donation will go towards renting a solar-powered trailer and generator.

Any additional contributions will go towards funding band equipment and time to keep the festival free, accessible and sustainable for all performers and attendees.

 

This budget for Sunstock 2025 provides a rough estimate only and actual expenditures may vary.
