The BSE recently introduced a new major in Educational Sciences and an undergraduate credential to help address the critical shortage of teachers and school leaders in California. Last fall, we welcomed over fifty undergraduate students into this transformative program. By helping us equip these future educators with the comprehensive knowledge, practical training and skills they need, you are supporting our mission — addressing educational inequalities and fostering opportunities for all learners.

Your gift today to the UC Berkeley School of Education Annual Fund provides the BSE with flexible support that will be used for expenses such as:

• Fund travel to school site placements: Enable students to gain hands-on experience in diverse educational settings ($50 per week).
• Pay for background checks: Ensure the safety and compliance of our students working with youth in local school districts ($155 per student)
• Offset costs of undergraduate research field work: Cover expenses associated with undergraduate research projects at local sites.
• Foster community among our students: Funding Support events and support services operational costs to that create a nurturing and collaborative environment.

Funding that surpasses the goal will continue to support research, operations and high-impact initiatives such as the undergraduate program at the School of Education.
