Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community so far, we’re 75% of the way to our full tour goal! Your support has already made such a difference—and now, we’re reaching out to ask for your help in making it all the way to the finish line.
This summer, the UC Berkeley Symphony Orchestra heads to Europe for an unforgettable tour of Berlin, Prague, Vienna, and Krakow—a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for our talented student musicians to perform in some of the world’s most renowned concert halls. They’ll be ambassadors of UC Berkeley, sharing their artistry on the global stage.
As a thank-you, any donor who gives during this final push will be invited to join us at our special bon voyage rehearsal—a behind-the-scenes musical celebration before we depart. Come meet the musicians, experience the music up close, and share in the excitement as we prepare to embark on this extraordinary journey.
While many generous donors have already helped us launch this dream, we still have a final stretch to go—and no gift is too big or too small. Every dollar brings us closer to sending every student who wants to go, regardless of financial need.
Here’s how your gift can help:
Let’s bring it home—together!
About the UCBSO
With over 100 years of history, the UC Berkeley Symphony Orchestra is the longest-standing orchestra in the UC system. Composed of approximately 120 UC Berkeley undergraduate and graduate students, staff, and community members, the orchestra is a testament to the depth of musical talent at our university. Despite many of our musicians pursuing fields outside of music—ranging from biostatistics to law—their dedication to the orchestra is unwavering. Each member rehearses twice weekly, united by a shared love for music and a sense of community.
The diversity of our ensemble members makes the UCBSO a vital part of the UC Berkeley community. The orchestra has consistently delivered compelling performances of challenging repertoire, and now we aim to raise awareness of our outstanding musical achievements on an international level. Touring in four of Europe’s most renowned cities will elevate UC Berkeley’s reputation and the caliber of our music program to a broader audience.
All donations are tax-deductible, and contributors will receive an official university tax acknowledgment.
