Fight for California Women's Basketball Challenge
Dear Cal Women’s Basketball Family,
As we stand at the threshold of a new era in college athletics, I want to speak to you not only as the head coach of this program, but as someone who deeply believes in the power of what we do here at Cal - shaping strong, smart, resilient women through the game of basketball.
On Friday, the House v. NCAA settlement was passed, which will fundamentally reshape how collegiate athletics are funded, supported, and experienced. These changes present both a challenge and an opportunity, and how we respond will define the future of Cal Women’s Basketball.
The truth is, in this evolving landscape, we can no longer rely solely on traditional funding streams to keep us competitive on and off the court. We must build a sustainable foundation now, that ensures our student-athletes continue to receive the world-class education, training, and support they deserve.
This is where we need your help, in Fighting for California.
An anonymous donor and I have stepped up to create a match of $150,000 for all who support the Women’s Basketball Fight for California Challenge that is happening now.
Whether you’re a proud alum, a longtime donor, or a fan of Cal Women’s Basketball, I’m asking you to step up and invest in our program. Your gift, no matter the size, makes a real impact. It helps us compete in recruiting and attract the best possible talent. It helps us provide resources for academic success and leadership development. It helps us give our student-athletes the tools they need to succeed long after the final buzzer.
I’ve never been more excited about the direction we’re headed. We’re building something special here… a team that plays hard, represents Cal with pride, and carries forward the legacy of those who came before. But we can’t do it without you.
Go Bears!
