About Cal Archery
The Archery Club at Berkeley was one of the first recreational collegiate archery teams to become established on the west coast. As leaders in the Western Region, the team has not only excelled in competition, winning multiple gold medals at regional, state, and national levels, but also played a key role in helping other West Coast teams, such as UC Davis, UC San Diego, and UC Merced, establish their own archery programs. Archery Club at Berkeley began in 2005 and we’ve grown tremendously ever since. Our team of over 100 members is always excited to accept new club members, whether you are a beginner or have experience. We provide all the necessary equipment to get started and teach beginners how to shoot compound, Olympic recurve, and barebow.
We hope to provide new compound bows for our newest members and their growing interest in this division. At the moment we have very limited equipment for this division compared to the ample supply we have for our other divisions. We are also looking to purchase new arrows for the club to shoot at tournaments like the annual competition we hold against Stanford.
With the club's continued growth, we aim to raise $5,000 in this year's crowdfunding opportunity to provide for our under-equipped division of compound archers.
* 80% will be directed towards buying new compound bow components
* 20% will be directed towards buying new arrows and the equipment to properly fletch them
* Any excess donations will be put towards subsidizing travel costs for domestic tournaments
We will be using any donated money towards the listed goals, though we may not be able to acquire all the necessary equipment to support our beginners. All estimates are rough only, and actual expenditures may vary. We hope that this fund will encourage many more students to join our compound division and archery as a whole!
