About Us: Cal Women's Club Lacrosse 

Cal Women’s Club Lacrosse is a student-run organization at the University of California, Berkeley, competing in two of the nation’s most competitive leagues: the Western Women’s Lacrosse League (WWLL) and the Women’s Collegiate Lacrosse Associates (WCLA). Since our founding in 2008, we have been dedicated to advancing women’s lacrosse at UC Berkeley, fostering leadership, teamwork, and sportsmanship in a fun, competitive environment.

In just our second year, we won both the WWLL Division II and WDIA Division II Championships. Since moving up to Division I, we’ve continued to build on our success, consistently ranking among the top teams. In 2023, we finished 4th in the WWLL, demonstrating our competitive spirit and drive.

Our team is not only united by a passion for lacrosse but also enriched by the diverse academic and personal pursuits of our players. Our student-athletes study a range of subjects, including Data Science, Engineering, Nutritional Science, and Media Studies, while being active members of various campus organizations.

This year with the transition into an RSO we must self-fund for everything such as rental cars, tournament fees, gear, field space, trainers, and coaching salaries.

Funding and Support

As a fully student-run team, we receive no financial assistance from UC Berkeley or Sports Clubs. This means all expenses—such as rental cars, tournament fees, gear, and coaching salaries—are paid out of pocket by our players and through fundraising efforts. As our team grows, so do our financial needs. The generosity of donors plays a crucial role in sustaining our program, allowing us to compete with top teams across the country and gain national recognition.

All donations are tax-deductible and go directly toward our operating costs. Your support, no matter the amount, makes a huge difference in helping us pursue our goals and maintain the high level of competition we've achieved. Every donation, whether large or small, is valuable. Even if we don’t meet our fundraising goal, your contribution will still help cover essential expenses like travel, tournament fees, and equipment. If we exceed our goal, the extra funds will enhance our program. Every dollar raised brings us closer to ensuring our team can thrive and compete at the highest level.

Here’s what your donation can help us cover this season:

Tournament Fee: $2,080

Hotels: $1,600/weekend

Rental Cars: $150/car

Referees: $160-280/referee

WWLL Dues: $1,170/year

Coaches: $4,000/coach
