Support equity-minded school leaders and shape education's future:
Dec. 2 Update: Help us reach our stretch goal of 100 donors to unlock an additional $4,000!
Your gift honors 25 years of legacy, leadership, & justice.
Since 1999, the Principal Leadership Institute (PLI) has prepared bold, equity-driven leaders who transform schools and communities in the Bay Area and beyond.
You can make a difference and honor this milestone by donating a gift of any size to the PLI Annual Fund. Your donation will provide direct and immediate fellowship funding to PLI students, alleviating financial burdens and barriers to access for the next generation of school leaders.
By donating today, you are helping ensure that the brightest and most diverse school leaders receive the highest quality education, regardless of their socioeconomic status. |

Magnify your impact through our $9,000 $13,000 match.
Your gift can make an even greater impact thanks to matching funds contributed by PLI alumni, instructors, and coaches. Here's how it works:
10 donors unlocked the first $500 25 donors unlocked the next $1,000 50 donors unlocked the next $2,500 75 donors unlocked the next $5,000 100 donors unlocked the final $4,000 In other words, your gift brings us one step closer to unlocking a total of ed |
Moreover, your gift launches a ripple effect: A 2023 survey indicated that 98 percent of our over 700 PLI alumni, more than half of whom are BIPOC, continue to work in education, and 81 percent remain in the Bay Area.
Special thanks to Alysse Castro (PLI Cohort 3), Carole Robie, Cheryl & Ronald Domenichelli, Jane Stern, Karling Aguilera-Fort (PLI Cohort 1), Laurie Wong Roberts (PLI Cohort 9), and Lihi Rosenthal (PLI Cohort 10) for their generosity in establishing this matching pool.
What makes PLI different?

Strong foundations: PLI's rigorous equity-focused instruction, combined with a robust cohort and coaching model, provides next-generation school leaders with tools to succeed.
Expansive networks: PLI's alumni network, which spans over 235 schools and 134 districts, provides a community that persists far beyond graduation.
Unflinching advocacy: PLI admits and prepares leaders with the skills and courage to actualize the core belief that public education can and must center students furthest from opportunity.
If you believe that school leaders are an integral part of an equitable, just society, make a gift to PLI today! |
About the Berkeley School of Education: At the BSE, we believe a strong educational system is essential for a thriving and inclusive society. Our mission is to prepare dedicated educators, visionary leaders and innovative researchers who are committed to advancing equity and excellence in public education.
Your gift will provide unrestricted support to the PLI Annual Fund, a fund that strives to support future school leaders as they prepare to transform K–12 public schools and increase equitable outcomes for students. At this time, all funds in the PLI Annual Fund are directed toward student support. Future uses of this fund could include, but are not limited to, additional student support and operational costs.
