jericho! improv fundraising for Night Late

jericho! Newbie Show Fall 2025Why hello there! We are jericho! improv, a improvisational comedy team made up of UC Berkeley students. Jericho! strives to provide entertainment to the wider community and foster a space for young comedians to hone their craft in sketch and improv comedy. The money from this fundraiser is going towards room reservations, speaking to experienced industry professionals, and community building across California, but all of this leads to our biggest opportunity yet! We are currently trying to fundraise for a special opportunity that would provide jericho! members the chance to write, star and produce in a late night talk show hosted by the group Night Late.

A snapshot from our new tradition: Musical ShowWe would use funds over the course of the coming semester. Night late would most likely occur during March, and would be available to a wide audience. As for the budget of our project, 40% for show costs including costuming, lights, video equipment, 25% for professional workshops and development, 20% for room bookings, and 15% for the any additional fees that might occur in the process. Although our club is not large, the fees required to book rooms large enough for our audiences and maintain a working production set for sketches and videos are high.

 Our team of creatives are extremely dedicated, with multiple weekly rehearsals and upwards of 7 shows a semester, providing a wide audience with quality content is our main goal. As the oldest comedy team on campus, we are aiming to continue this goal and provide students who have a passion for comedy and a talent for making people laugh a stage. Having the money to host Night Late would be an amazing opportunity for both us and the greater Berkeley community, comedy is not about the performers, it's about the audience.
