Help Berkeley Reach Space! SEB | Fall 2026
Description
New Goal of $7,000! We hope to keep the momentum going and raise $7,000 to allow our team to purchase equipment, propellants, and more to reach space!
Space Enterprise at Berkeley (SEB) is a student-run liquid rocketry club. Since 2016, our mission has been to be the first collegiate rocketry team in the world to send a liquid-fueled rocket past the Kármán Line, into space. We are a team of 60+ students from diverse backgrounds and with a variety of valuable experiences. We have designed, tested, and launched 13 rockets and handle every aspect in-house, including high power RF systems, advanced composite manufacturing and propellant feed systems. Space Enterprise at Berkeley is one of the most ambitious collegiate rocketry teams globally, continuously pursuing innovative, low-cost, and effective solutions. In 2022, we developed E-REG (Electronic Regulator), a system that precisely controls propellant tank pressures, enabling us to throttle our engine. In 2023, we became the first collegiate team to successfully demonstrate thrust vector control on a student-designed engine. Our innovations have inspired the designs of other collegiate rocketry teams. In the midst of an exciting collegiate space race, we fly on generosity and are committed to leveraging your support to cover annual costs for materials, flight components, and tools.
SEB will be developing its next liquid rocket throughout the Fall semester and aiming to launch in the Spring. Throughout this development, SEB will be designing, manufacturing, and building out its systems and, as such, will be using the resources from this funding during that timeframe. Some expenses include ground support electronics, propellants and test gases, as well as materials for all of our systems.
If we meet our goal, we hope to inspire the next generation of aerospace engineers by showing students what they are capable of building at the college level. By keeping our club open and accessible to students from all backgrounds, we can make hands-on rocketry more attainable while giving students the opportunity to work on projects at an industry level.
Every semester, the cost of developing our systems grows alongside the technical difficulty of design and manufacturing. Our financial needs to design, build, and test a new rocket every year include everything from our propulsion systems, safety gear, composite materials of our airframe, and even the avionics to control everything. While we pride ourselves on being a resourceful team that meets such limitations with creative solutions, substantial funding is still necessary to make it to the launch pad and our ultimate goal of reaching the stars.

Our previous liquid rocket, Eureka 2, reached 17,000 ft and cost approximately $11,000, plus an additional $3,000 sponsor contribution for propulsion system fittings and valves. For this iteration, we are estimating the following costs:
- Current propulsion system development and testing: $11,000
- Propellant for testing and launch operations: $5,500
- Recovery system: $3,700
- Aerostructures to withstand flight forces: $8,700
- Avionics, including custom flight computers, telemetry, and data systems: $3,600
All funds raised will be crucial to purchasing materials and supplies required for manufacturing and assembling parts of our rocket, so any donation is greatly appreciated and will be thoughtfully used to advance our club’s progress towards reaching space!
