Description

Support BERKE1337 in the 2026-27 School Year!

BERKE1337 represents the undergraduate student body's best cybersecurity minds and talent. Over our decade of competing in national competitions, we've had top finishes in the Collegiate Cyber Defence Competition, Collegiate Penetration Testing Competition, and the National Cyber League, gaining us recognition from the State of California for our efforts. Our club also runs a lab network to promote cybersecurity learning through hands-on experience and self-host our virtual infrastructure. We're raising funds to continue our mission to represent Berkeley and cybersecurity, sending our members to more competitions and amplifying our platform to enhance outreach and impact.

We plan to use the funds through the course of this semester and the next. Our previous fundraiser last year earned us a 2nd place finish in the Western Regional Collegiate Penetration Testing Competition in our first time competing in nearly 10 years! Regardless of if we hit our goal, we will be making sure to reinvest into more cybersecurity events and furthering our mission to represent the cybersecurity students at Berkeley. We believe that despite having some of the greatest security-related faculty in the world, the undergrad presence is nearly nonexistent. We are doing our part to change that.

We'll be using our project funds and put it into the highest priority areas, namely our competition funds and meetings/outreach funds. We believe these are most crucial to the continuation of our club's legacy for open cybersecurity learning.

Our funds are expected to be divided up into the following categories. We will be prioritizing each category equally regardless of if we hit our goal!

- 35% Competition funds

- 30% Lab funds

- 25% Meetings and outreach

- 10% Conference Transport.

This is a graphic of a pie chart titled "Berke1337 26-27 Budgeting Breakdown". It shows 25% allocated to Meetings/Outreach, 35% for Competition Funds, 10% for Conferences, and 30% for Lab Funds.

Even if we don’t reach our goal, we will use whatever funds we raise to keep providing a space for Berkeley cybersecurity students to learn and grow.
