The Biology Scholars Program is entering an exciting new era. As we welcome our new Faculty Director, Caroline Williams, we are moving forward with renewed energy in our mission of advancing equity and inclusion for UC Berkeley scholars in STEM.

Even as BSP grows, its beating heart remains unchanged: the BSP Student Room.

Imagine a BSP student’s life at Berkeley. The beautiful shared focus of a late-night group study session, the comfort of a snack with friends, the quiet moments between classes. For generations of scholars, the BSP room has shrunk a massive university into a personal home. It is where finals are survived, and wins are celebrated together. 

We are asking for your help in protecting this vital sanctuary. You can help shape the environment where our scholars thrive under the care and support of BSP alumni and friends.

How your gift powers the space

• $1,200 (Fuel & Refreshments): Keeps the BSP students nourished for a full year with an array of meals plus coffee and snacks to stay awake during those evening study sessions.

• $1,000 (Space Upgrades & Event Supplies): Ensures we have the furniture, equipment, and materials to provide a welcoming study home.

• $500 (Peer-Led Community Events): Funds student-centered professional and social gatherings hosted right in the room by peer advisors.

• $300 (Course Advising Nights): Covers materials and setup for our high-impact advising sessions.
