2027 National Wushu Collegiate Competition | CMAAC

We're the Chinese Martial Arts Appreciation Club, the nation's oldest wushu club, founded in 1981. We are the home of 52 active members, alongside 5 coaches, and many Team USA wushu athletes! In the past year, we overcame the financial burden to self-fund our club gear, silks, transportation & lodges, and all the costs for the 2026 Wushu Collegiate Competition. With our determination and hard work, we took home championships

The CMAAC Beginner Cohort

This upcoming April, we're preparing ourselves to compete in the 2027 National Wushu Collegiate Competition that will take place in the east coast (New York City, tentative). We're looking for every way to take roughly 40 members to the competition and staying for 3 days. We believe the fundraiser could help us achieve that and give us the opportunity to thrive.

Medal Show-off! '26 Collegiate Tournament

Each athlete worked very hard to show off their best selves in the competitions. We set our goal to raise $5,000 in order to cover registration fee (roughly $90/per), Food & Gas (around $1,100), and miscellaneous fund to cover any shortcomings (estimated $300). This is a huge initiative we're need you help for!

Cost break-down for the '27 Collegiate Tournament

Help us achieve this goal is you're:

✅ A Berkeley student/alum
✅ Believes in student-led communities
✅ A parent, family member, or friend of a student
✅ Someone who loves Chinese culture or wants to learn more about it
✅ Someone who resonates being a student on a tight budget
✅ A believer in making campus feel more welcoming and connected
✅ Values discipline, perseverance, and teamwork
✅ A supporter of cultural diversity and representation at Berkeley

In an event that prevents us to raise enough money, unfortunately, we'll have to reduce the members that can participate in the competition. That's why we're trying our very best to make presence at every performance opportunity.
