Our Crowdfunding Groups
Cal Athletics sponsors and supports five Spirit Groups: Cal Cheerleading, Dance Team, Mic Men, Rally Committee, and Oski. Cal Spirit upholds the traditions that define the Cal game day experience for fans young and old. As ambassadors for the University, Cal Spirit members help spread Cal pride across the nation. However, athletic department support is not sufficient to send Cal Spirit on the road this basketball season.
Your support will ensure that Cal Spirit remains a constant presence at sporting events both in Berkeley and beyond. Cal Spirit needs your help for road trips to Seattle and Las Vegas for the Pacific 12 Conference Basketball tournaments. Both events are unique opportunities to share the Cal story with all of our fellow Pac-12 schools while supporting two teams with high expectations for the 2015-16 season.
Thanks to donors like you, Cal Spirit will continue to best represent our student-athletes, coaches, and Cal Family on the biggest stage. If you are able, please give to Cal Spirit.

CAL CHEERLEADING
Cal Cheerleading is the newest addition to Cal Spirit. You can see the cheerleaders at all football, men’s and women’s basketball, volleyball and even a few gymnastics meets and baseball games. Their primary focus is to support each program and lead the crowd before and during the game. They work with the Mic Men to lead stadium-wide cheers and increase crowd participation through the use of stunting, signs and poms. They also participate in various rallies, alumni, and community events.
CAL DANCE TEAM
The Cal Dance Team performs to traditional Cal fight songs as well as Cal Band pop and rock songs. During football season, they perform both on the platform in front of the student section as well as on the field pregame and at halftime. During basketball season, the team dances on the sidelines and on the court during time-outs and performs professional-style halftime shows.
CAL MIC MEN
The Mic Men are yell leaders charged with entertaining the student section, supporting the team, influencing the game, and representing the University while emceeing events and rallies. Whether on the mic at football or yelling on the court at basketball and every sport in between, the Mic Men help ensure that Cal pride is always present.
OSKI
Since 1941, this lovable bear has been a mainstay at all Cal events, from new student Convocation to Big Game. The name "Oski" is derived from the "Oski Wow Wow" cheer, popular in the 1950s. Oski is known for his trademark walk and stylish sweater.
RALLY COMMITTEE
The oldest student group on campus, UC Rally Committee is a service organization tasked with upholding Cal spirit and tradition. Best known for executing card stunts, firing the Victory Cannon, and planning the Bonfire Rally, Rally Comm has been a constant presence on campus since 1901.
