WE DID IT!

February 26, 2018

Dear Donors:

Thank you for supporting the Human Rights Center during our first-ever crowdfunding campaign. In 30 days, we raised $35,100 from 109 donors. We also broke the record for the most money raised in a single crowdfunding campaign at Berkeley!

The Human Rights Center has been on the Berkeley campus for nearly 25 years, moving from Stephens Hall to Telegraph Avenue and recently to Simon Hall. With your generous support, we will be able to move into our own space on campus and create a permanent home for our growing staff, visiting scholars, colleagues, friends, and students.

In the coming weeks, we will send out a donor survey to see what you thought about this crowdfunding campaign. Your feedback will provide us with valuable insight about this first HRC crowdfunding campaign. We hope you will be able to participate. We will also follow up with you personally about any perks associated with your gift. Should you have any questions, please feel free to email Kat Madrigal Cheng at k.madrigal@berkeley.edu.

Thank you for helping us make this campaign a success!

11 days left and under $9,000 to go!

February 12, 2018

Thanks to you and the other 64 donors who have given so far, we have raised 72% of our $30,000 goal during our first-ever crowdfunding campaign. We appreciate your support!

With only 11 days left of our campaign, a home for human rights at Berkeley is that much closer to becoming a reality. The Human Rights Center has been on the Berkeley campus for nearly 25 years now. Our new home on campus will provide us with the space needed to ensure that more students can participate in our projects and programs. The next generation of human rights leaders is right here at Berkeley.

This week, a generous donor will be matching all gifts up to $1,000. In order to help get the word out, the Law School will also highlight our crowdfunding campaign on the law.berkeley.edu website, and campus will email 100,000 alumni and friends.
