We've reached past our goal of $2500!

February 21, 2018

The Primer team would like to express the hugest THANK YOU to our generous donors!! You have made it all the more possible for our course to expand and benefit undergraduate students in their science and research journeys.

Over the course of our crowdfunding campaign, we have been overwhelmed with the generosity of our donors, and are thankful to have been able to share what we do with so many people. The Primer DeCal was started two years ago because a group of students wanted to give back what they've learned as undergraduate researchers, so that they can improve the experiences for other undergraduates looking to get involved with research. We are so grateful that our donors have found Primer's purpose meaningful and worthy of support!!

Please keep up with us through our Facebook page after the campaign ends, and once again, thank you for your support in what we do.

A huge thank you to our generous donors so far: we have reached over 70% of our $2500 goal!

For this update, we wanted to share some students' perspectives on why they are interested in the Primer course.

"One of my primary reasons for deciding to attend Berkeley was my strong attraction to the culture of undergraduate research. I want to be an active and knowledgeable member of this community and become involved with a lab on campus fairly soon. This DeCal instantly appealed to me: not only is it excellent preparation to dive into the world of undergraduate research, both in terms of basic technique and mentorship from experienced peers, but it covers topics that I genuinely would love to learn about."

"I am interested in taking this DeCal because I am want to get involved in research at Berkeley but feel I need to strengthen my laboratory techniques before getting into a lab. I am a transfer student and realize I am missing some skills my counterparts have received in their undergrad careers."

"I work in a physical chemistry lab but I am very interested in how this research can be applied biologically. That's why I want to learn more about how a molecular biology lab works and the techniques used to do research on cells and proteins."

Thank you for keeping up with us through this update! Please share our project page so that we can reach more people and be closer to achieving our fundraising goal!

50% MARK REACHED

February 09, 2018

Thank you to all our generous donors who have brought our project to the 50% milestone!

We are so excited to start off the spring semester with a new cohort of students who share our interest in molecular biology and research. Since the semester's just begun, check out some thoughts a past student, Tapan, has about the Primer course.

Thank you for keeping up with us through this update! Please share our project to any interested parties and we can be that much closer to reaching our goal!
