Very exciting update: La Loma Rooftop Garden has been adopted by the Hispanic Engineers and Scientists, an undergraduate student group on campus focused on social justice and outreach, which will be using it for various projects including hydroponics, aquaponics, insect farming, and a living wall. We are currently in the design phase, and looking forward to initiating the projects over this summer!
In honor of Earth Day, we constructed two beds from recycled picket fencing, planting over 100 succulents. The succulents were generously donated by the Patagonia Case Competition put on by the Haas School of Business, and planted by the talented finalists (in collaboration with the HES and graduate student team). Many of the finalists said it was the highlight of their weekend at Cal!
Happy Earth Day (tomorrow!) and thank you again for your support!
Our campaign has officially ended, so we want to say thank you to all of our donors who supported the rooftop garden project. We raised $5455, $455 more than our initial goal! We appreciate your donations, and are looking forward to beginning construction of the garden next month. Please stay tuned for updates!
Thank you to all of our donors, we're thrilled with our progress! We have 14 days left, and less than $500 left to raise. Please share our Crowdfunding Site as widely as possible to help us achieve our goal.
