Since you last heard from us, Berkeley Hyperloop has evolved and is now Formula Electric at Berkeley, UC Berkeley's premier electric race car team. Our team of 150 engineers and business members is committed to researching, designing, manufacturing, and testing sustainable transportation technologies. Our goal is to compete in the annual Formula SAE International Electric Competition this summer at Michigan International Speedway.
We are dedicated to designing, building, and racing a high-performance electric vehicle that showcases the potential of electric power in the world of motorsports. It is a dynamic project that provides hands-on experience in engineering, teamwork, and innovation. Alongside the hard work our members devote, a significant amount of resources is required to bring a project of such magnitude to life.
This is where your support comes in! We have launched our crowdfunding campaign to cover the cost of materials for our inaugural aerodynamics package. With this addition, the front and rear wings will provide downforce to the car allowing us to reach greater speeds. Every contribution, big or small, brings us closer to our commitment to fostering educational development and sustainable technology.
A more in-depth overview of our subteams, budget breakdown, and donor benefits can be found on our crowdfunding page. Please share with anyone else who might want to support or get involved.
Dear donors of Berkeley Hyperloop,
Thank you for having supported bLoop in our previous crowdfunding campaign! We're excited to share with you some major updates.
Last winter, after SpaceX cancelled the Hyperloop Pod Competition, we transitioned our team into Formula Electric, to represent Berkeley in the world’s largest collegiate electric vehicle competition: Formula SAE EV. Carried over are our members, resources, and commitment to developing the technologies and the people for the future of sustainable transportation.
We're currently working on integrating and finalizing our vehicle design and preparing for manufacturing this winter and spring. We’ll be competing in virtual events throughout the spring, and face off against dozens of universities from around the world in June if conditions allow.
Please check out the attached video, and support our new crowdfunding campaign if you like what you see! If you cannot donate, we only ask that you share our campaign or video (each share is worth $4 on average).
Thank you,
Brad Ling,
President, Formula Electric at Berkeley
With only four days left to give, the "Your Name and/or Logo on the Pod" perk has been cut in half to only $2,500! Additionally, we are allowing YOU to name the 2020 Berkeley Hyperloop Pod for only $5,000. We’re excited to be working on our new design, but are unable to make our dreams a reality without your help.
Thank you, and Go Bears!
Best,
Berkeley Hyperloop
Thank you for following our campaign and contributing. We are nearly 30% of the way there thanks to you. We need to raise $1000 more by the end of the week to stay on track! Thanks to the donations so far we have funds for a test rig for our braking system, that we will use to qualify our design. Remember: Any share on email or social media is worth $4. Please share if you can’t donate.
