We have reached our $20,000 goal!!! NEW GOAL: $25,000!
We could not be more grateful for and excited by your overwhelming support, and hope to keep the momentum going! We are striving to raise $5,000 more in the remainder of our campaign, and are confident our community will help us reach this goal and continue Driving the Future.
CALSOL
We are a passionate team of students at UC Berkeley, and we build cars that run entirely off of solar power. Our team’s indomitable collaborative spirit fosters unparalleled knowledge sharing & growing. We challenge ourselves every day, building complex and uncharted engineering systems from the ground up. We share our work with and make an impact on our community and world. We are passionate about building the future of clean energy transportation. We are CalSol.
CalSol, the U.C. Berkeley Solar Vehicle Team, is a team of over one hundred passionate Berkeley undergraduate students who design, build, and race high-performance, street-legal solar vehicles. We have built 8 generations of racing vehicles, dating back to 1990, developing and enhancing our designs with each iteration. Our team welcomes all interested students and is home to a variety of majors across the University. The unifying force among all of our members is the passion for making a difference in developing the technological, sustainable future of transportation. We provide unparalleled hand-on experience in engineering, project management, supply chain interactions, teamwork, problem-solving, and more.
CalSol is an incredibly unique student group, providing industry-level resources and projects for our members. Each vehicle is built entirely by our students, from scratch; the knowledge and experience gained is unparalleled.
OUR PROJECT
With our next generation vehicle, we plan to build something revolutionary, futuristic, and practical. This vehicle, lovingly named Tachyon, represents the future of energy efficiency and transportation, and is a monument to the innovative powerhouse of Berkeley Engineering. Our design features a fully solar-powered electric vehicle, but distinct from any of our previous generations -- it will be a multi-passenger car intended to realize our vision of promoting sustainable transportation practices. Leveraging our experience, knowledge, and passion, we strive to push the boundaries of even the most advanced cars on the market today and inspire a clean transportation future. This vehicle will compete in the 2017 World Solar Challenge, racing across the Australian Outback and being judged on practicality, functionality, and performance.
Our team has the passion, drive, and knowledge to build this inspiring design. But we -- the 100 passionate students -- need your help. We are funded entirely by the support of our community, and building a high-performance vehicle can have quite a price tag. CalSol is reaching out to you for your help. Please consider donating to support our project, so our students can continue to build, learn, and innovate the next generation of energy efficient transportation solutions.
Drive the future.
