Hello wonderful 2020 donors,
I am once again reaching out on behalf of the 2024 Cal Tri Crowdfunding campaign. To those of you who have already graciously donated, THANK YOU! Our team could not be successful without your generosity. Your donations have helped us reach to new heights far past our original goal. We are now at a new goal of $12,000 dollars for this years crowdfunding campaign.
We have just ⏱️ 12 HOURS LEFT ⏱️ of crowdfunding for 2024, and we believe we can reach our super stretch goal of ⭐ 12,000 DOLLARS ⭐
If you or someone you know would like to support our team, the link to donate is here: http://crowdfund.berkeley.edu/tri-24. All donations are tax deductible and sincerely appreciated!
We are a student-run and student-funded athletic club that receives little financial support from the school. We are the largest collegiate triathlon team in the country and one of the most decorated collegiate triathlon teams in history - and we have achieved all of this merely through the financial backing of team fundraising efforts and membership dues. The cost of training equipment, dues, and race travel can be expensive for any college student and a barrier for those hoping to get involved in the sport. Crowdfunding allows us to make triathlon an accessible sports for everyone who wants to get active and join the Cal Tri family <3
We can't thank you enough for being a part of the Cal Tri Family and your continued support throughout the years! Our team is currently in the process of gearing up for our National Competition, see the video below to see our team working hard and pushing each other for our favorite race of the season! Thank you all and GO BEARS!
Rebecca
The Cal Tri family wants to give a huge round of applause to our amazing donors, who have helped us raise over $12,000 in our team's crowdfunding campaign! We thank you from the bottom of our hearts, and are so grateful for the continued support. We would also like to thank the team, alumni, friends, and family who helped share our project link. We couldn't have done this without you! Also, for those who selected perks as part of your gift to the team, they will be sent in the next few weeks.
The fundraising amount is going to make a huge impact on our team. We plan to help more athletes compete at Nationals in April with need-based scholarships and subsidizing the race co-pay, to add to the number of team members (over 65!) already committed to going. We also hope to buy necessary team equipment to allow more people to participate in practices (trainers!) and purchase a new tent to bring to races. Your donations will go above and beyond in bringing the sport of triathlon to more people and will ensure we can properly function and provide for our team members. Our future is bright!
This past weekend, Cal Triathlon had an awesome time racing at Stanford's Treeathlon. Ryan Lund and Bear Schickel placed 2nd and 3rd respectively in the men's DL race and Katie Patrick placed 1st in the women's DL race! For the classic race, both Jonathan McKinley and Nikki Collins placed 1st in their respective races, and Bear Schickel and Carmel Lee placed 2nd. We had nine team members place in the top ten for the men's race and 15 athletes raced their first triathlon. If you'd like to see more photos, Cal Tri alum Andy Jessop took amazing photos of our team! https://pics.andymjessop.com/Sports/Cal-Tri/Treeathlon-2020
Thank you again for your support and for making this campaign such a successful one. We're ready to make waves at the West Coast Conference in San Luis Obispo and Nationals in Tempe, AZ!
The moment you've all been waiting for... Cal Tri's Crowdfunding #PieThePrez! As a thank you to our donors for their generous support, to the Cal Tri team for spreading the word about our campaign, and to the board members for spearheading the project, our lovely president, Katie Patrick, volunteered to get pied tonight at our track practice. We hope you enjoy the pie-ing as much as the team did! (Note: three people were pied in the making of this video... can you hear the third?!)
We're still working towards our super stretch goal of $12,000! We only have FIVE DAYS LEFT to raise money, so please donate and share our project link with your family and friends. We are so thankful for the support. LET'S KEEP THE MOMENTUM GOING!
The Cal Tri family is blown away by the amount of support we've received through our Crowdfunding campaign. The team would like to give a huge thank you to our donors: we could not have done this without you! We exceeded our first stretch goal of $10,000 today and are now aiming to raise 150% of our initial goal, at $12,000! With only 6 days left until our campaign ends, we realize this is huge target for our team to accomplish, but with the momentum and support we've seen so far, we are confident in our goal! Please help by sharing our campaign link with your personal networks.
As a thank you to our donors for helping us reach our first stretch goal and a reward to the team for their hard work, the Cal Tri president, Katie Patrick, has volunteered to get pied in the face at our team track practice! Stay tuned for an awesome team video tomorrow night!
Cal Tri is super excited to announce we surpassed our Crowdfunding goal this morning with the help of our amazing community of alumni, friends, and family!!! Thank you to all of the donors who have supported our project. With this success in mind, we would like to keep the momentum going and stretch our Crowdfunding goal to $10,000! Please continue to support our campaign by sharing our project link with your personal networks. If you weren't able to donate before we achieved our initial goal, feel free to help us reach our new stretch goal! As we gear up for Nationals and continue to train hard, we are more excited than ever for what this campaign will give to the team. Thanks again and happy fundraising!
Our team had a FANTASTIC time racing this past weekend at UC San Diego's Tritonman! Cal Tri athletes placed 1st and 2nd in both the men's Collegiate Draft Legal race and the women's Collegiate Draft Legal race, as well as 1st and 2nd in the men's and women's Classic races. Two of our team members, Katie Patrick and Bear Schickel, were offered their pro cards for placing in the top three of the Elite Development Race! Not only did we place well, but for some, this was their first triathlon ever. We brought a great group, from all skill levels, to make an impact at Tritonman and with our donor's generous support, we are able to travel to races such as this one and continue our success!
With the first race of the season done, we are now setting our sights across the bay to Stanford's Treeathlon, hosted on March 1st. More than 75 of our team members will be racing in just two weeks, which is also the end of our Crowdfunding Campaign! We've raised 80% of our goal! Help us support the team by sharing our project link with your family and friends.

The Cal Tri team thanks the amazing donors who have already helped us reach the 50% milestone in our Crowdfunding campaign goal! We are officially one week into the project, with three more weeks left to continue raising money. Our team is currently preparing for the first race of the season: UCSD's Tritonman! This weekend athletes will compete in either a Draft Legal race on Saturday, the Classic race on Sunday, or both. We're looking forward to scoring big and showing our gratitude towards our awesome supporters, whose donations will go towards subsidizing race travel costs. Thanks again and feel free to share our project link with your personal networks. Go Bears!
