Empower Change: Sustaining Cal Habitat's Mission for Future Semesters

Since its inception in 1999, Cal Habitat has emerged as the largest student-led humanitarian organization at UC Berkeley, committed to uplifting underserved communities throughout the Bay Area. Each semester, our Golden Bears unite for over 200 events, contributing more than 3,400 impactful hours through various activities such as gardening, clean-ups, soup kitchens, and home-building initiatives that genuinely foster change.

Donations play a vital role in enabling our student volunteers to travel via BART to soup kitchens, where they serve hundreds of families in need. Contributions also assist us in revitalizing the yards of women’s shelters, among numerous other projects. We invite you to watch our video to see our work in action! A highlight of our efforts includes build events, where donations directly support students in constructing affordable housing. We have witnessed the transformation of dirt mounds turn into homes where individuals and families now live and thrive!

Your support is essential to sustaining this critical work. Together, we are "Raising the Roof with Cal Habitat," creating lasting change and hope for those in need.

Funds raised will be allocated for Spring 2025. Currently, we are facing a funding deficit due to a decline in support from our primary donors. These funds will ensure the longevity of our organization, allowing us to continue providing students with the opportunity to serve and, most importantly, to make a meaningful impact within our community.

This budget provides a rough estimate only and actual expenditures may vary.

Your donation helps cover the costs of the items mentioned above by providing general support to Cal Habitat. If you're interested in becoming a donor, we have some optional perks that we would love for you to consider.

Get a BIG THANKYOU from our members. You can expect to see 100 students waving and thanking you on your device. :) SO SWEET!

Our mascot is a manatee named hugh. Can you guess why? Hint: say his name and what he is aloud. Hehe.

Depending on the event, you can look forward to gardening or cleanup activities at a hiking trail, coast, garden, or farm. SO NATURE-Y!

Sponsor 10 to 15 volunteers for a local event! Your contribution typically goes towards supplies or rideshare services, as public transportation options to the mountains are limited.

Depending on the event, you may find yourself engaged in detailing, wood sawing, hammering, or painting. SO CREATIVE!

Your contributions will aid in transporting approximately 20 dedicated volunteers to the construction site via Bart, with a fare typically set at $10 per individual.

Thank you for taking a look at our page and considering our mission. Your support means the world to us. No donation is too small and a repost goes a long way. Feel free to share to your friend and family!

Best,

Cal Habitat For Humanity.  GO BEARS!
