BERKE1337 Cybersecurity Club Fundraiser FA’25

Dear BERKE1337 Supporters,

Thank you all for giving to BERKE1337 in the Fall of 2025! This month we're back again with another fundraiser so the club can continue doing great things such as setting students up for a career in cyber and competing in new events! The link to our Scalefunder fundraising page can be found here! Here are some of the things we've done since:

• Placed 2nd in the Western Regional Collegiate Penetration Testing Competition in our first time competing in nearly 10 years!
• Placed in the top 10% of National Collegiate League CTF teams in the nation.
• Placed in the top 3 out of 28 teams in the Western Regional Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition.
• Started a new line of projects centered around 1337NET, our very own self hosted cybersecurity lab network for practical cyber defense exercises.
  • Launched our self-hosted XMPP server!
• Hosted tech talks, industry speakers, and technical walkthroughs.

We've built up a lot of momentum this semester and the club is growing faster than we've ever seen before, and we're looking to you to help us keep up the pace! If you visit our new fundraiser project page, you'll see new perks and rewards including sponsorships fit with tech talks and direct recruitment opportunities, perfect for companies and organizations looking to connect with the brightest cyber talent Berkeley has to offer.

We hope you can check us out, and we thank you for your generous donations. Please remember to share our fundraiser to help reach our goal! And if you have any questions, feel free to reach out to our officer team at officers@berke1337.studentorg.berkeley.edu or myself at jon_quitoriano@berkeley.edu

Once again, thank you all so much for your support!

Best,

--JQ

President, BERKE1337

To all our supporters,

Since the early 2010s, BERKE1337 has represented the UC Berkeley cybersecurity student body in national capture-the-flag, network defense, and now penetration testing competitions. Thanks to your donations, we are able to continue this legacy into the next school year!

Over the past month, we raised $3,865 -- that's 128% of our goal! -- from 14 donors. We are thrilled and excited to put these funds towards the success of our student body and help fund early cybersecurity careers! We can't even begin to explain how much your contributions mean to us, we can only hope to live up to the expectations of all of those who contributed and do our best to keep BERKE1337 at the top of the leaderboards.

Over the course of the next month alone, we will be sending out notifications for perk rewards and follow-ups for those who claimed our various tiers. Please keep an eye out on your inbox!

Wish us luck as we close out the year, we'll need it especially for the month of November as we prepare for the Collegiate Penetration Testing Competition this weekend at Stanford, the National Cyber League team games also this weekend, and the Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition invitationals in the coming weekends!

Thank you once again!

--Nick Perematko, President

To all our donors, thank you so much for getting us this far!

We're entering the final stretch of our crowdfunding journey and the finish line is in sight, we are now less than $500 dollars away from reaching our goal and we need only a little bit more to reach our goal!

Help support BERKE1337 by sharing our crowdfunding campaign link with whoever you can and let's close it out, there isn't much time left!

Get your final donations in by midnight tonight, and thank you for support cybersecurity students at Cal!

Sincerely,
--Nick

Thank you to all of those who have donated already!

We are 3 days away from the end of our fundraiser and we need your help to close in on our goal! As a reminder, we are offering sponsorship tiers which include spots on our site and our jerseys, as well as long-term partnerships with our club which can get you events with us throughout the school year!

Please consider sharing the link to our fundraiser with whomever you can, your charitable donations mean the world to us and help further the education of cybersecurity students at U.C. Berkeley!

Thank you,
--Nick
