Support the Minorities in Health Conference!

The Minorities in Health (MIH) Conference is an annual student-led event that educates students about health disparities that impact our communities and finding ways to decrease these disparities by encouraging and inspiring primarily high school and undergraduate students to strive toward higher education and, ultimately, careers in health. Hosted by Comunidad for Health Equity (CHE) in partnership with other minority pre-health organizations at UC Berkeley, MIH provides mentorship, networking opportunities, and career exploration resources to both high school and undergraduate students. Through workshops, panels with health professionals, and volunteer opportunities, the conference highlights the importance of health equity and equips students with the tools to navigate academic and pre-health spaces with confidence.

Our team, CHE (Comunidad for Health Equity), is a campus-based organization that inspires UC Berkeley students to serve the Latinx community with a focus on health equity. Alongside our dedicated partners, we are committed to uplifting students from all backgrounds in healthcare and providing spaces where they feel supported and motivated to pursue higher education. 

This year, CHE is raising funds to help cover essential costs such as food, the event space, scholarships for high school students, workshop supplies, and other operational costs, ensuring that the event remains free and accessible to all participants. By supporting our fundraising campaign, donors are directly investing in the future of diverse healthcare leadership. Your contributions will not only sustain this year’s conference but also strengthen volunteer opportunities and long-term mentorship programs that empower minority students to close gaps in healthcare access. Together, we can inspire the next generation of health leaders and help reduce health disparities in our communities!

All funds will be used to realize the MIH conference, albeit in a smaller capacity, if needed. In the case we surpass our goal, we will allocate additional funds for future events and program costs, such as volunteering opportunities that we offer and promote at MIH.
